Skid Steer Brush Cutters and Mulchers

Mulchers for Skid Steers, Tree Saws and Limb Saws

Skid steer brush cutters and mulchers from Limb Beaver clear limbs, brush and overgrowth from the seat of your skid steer, tractor loader or excavator. The six heads here cut 24 to 72 inches wide and run on 5 to 50 GPM, so start with the flow your machine makes. Standard flow machines run the Baby Beaver BB 4 and the Junior Beaver JB 4. High flow machines run the LB 6 limb saw and the Twin Disc Mulcher TDM 72. Limb Beaver builds every one of them in the USA.

What size skid steer do you need for a mulcher?

The Limb Beaver Twin Disc Mulcher TDM 72 needs a high flow skid steer or compact track loader in the 95 to 165 horsepower class that supplies 35 to 50 GPM at 4,000 PSI or more. Limb Beaver matches the motor package to your machine, so we confirm your flow and pressure with you before the order goes in.

Brush cutter or forestry mulcher: which one do you need?

Pick a limb saw style brush cutter to cut limbs and saplings at height, and a mulcher to grind brush and overgrowth into mulch on the ground. The Limb Beaver saws cut limbs up to 3, 4 or 6 inches thick and reach as high as 24 feet. The TDM 72 cuts a 72 inch path, and its three counter anvils break the material into even mulch in one pass.

Can you use a skid steer brush cutter on a tractor?

Yes, with the tractor loader version. The BB 4TR, JB 4TR and LB 4TR mount on tractor loaders, Limb Beaver sizes the JB 4TR for 50 to 70 HP tractors, and the Bucket Beaver clamps to the bucket already on your tractor loader.

Does a skid steer tree saw fit a mini excavator?

The excavator versions do. The JB 4EX, LB 4EX and LB 6EX mount on excavators, and the LB 4EX and LB 6EX also fit boom mowers. Check your excavator's auxiliary flow against each head: 6 to 15 GPM for the JB 4EX, 15 to 25 GPM for the LB 4EX and 25 to 50 GPM for the LB 6EX.

Skid Steer Brush Cutters and Mulchers: questions buyers ask

What GPM does a skid steer brush cutter need?

It depends on the head: 5 to 15 GPM for the Baby Beaver BB 4, 6 to 15 for the Junior Beaver JB 4, 15 to 25 for the LB 4, 25 to 50 for the LB 6 and 35 to 50 at 4,000 PSI minimum for the TDM 72 mulcher. The Bucket Beaver needs no high flow.

How much does a skid steer brush cutter weigh?

From 175 pounds for the bucket mounted Bucket Beaver to 2,700 pounds for the TDM 72 mulcher. The skid steer saws sit between: 385 pounds for the BB 4, 500 for the JB 4, 950 for the LB 4SS and 1,500 for the LB 6SS.

How big a limb can a skid steer tree saw cut?

Up to 6 inches with the LB 4 and LB 6, 4 inches with the Junior Beaver JB 4, and 3 inches with the Baby Beaver BB 4 and the Bucket Beaver.

Will a Limb Beaver head fit my skid steer's quick attach?

The BB 4SS and JB 4SS mount on the universal skid steer quick attach plate, and the LB 6SS and the TDM 72 fit universal quick attach skid steers with high flow. The Bucket Beaver needs no mount of its own because it clamps to your bucket.
