Lowe Manufacturing Auger Bit Overview
A planting hole needs a wide top and room at the bottom, not a straight sided post hole. Lowe's TSQ Series tree and shrub augers use smaller diameter flighting on the bottom, which leaves space for the root ball, fertilizer or mulch. They come 18 to 48 inches in diameter with standard heat treated or carbide tipped teeth and a 2 9/16 inch round or 2 inch hex top, so they run on the same Lowe drives as the SQ bits. Nurseries and landscapers use them for tree and shrub planting.
